So, Webkittyn has been here for a bit over a week here in Darkhours Studios. Although she’ll be more focused on the Devils battling the Rangers, I’m going to provide entertainment for those of us who don’t care so much about Hockey playoffs.

Britain, I shall not defeat you - I shall transcend you.
Yes, it’s been 1 year, 6 months and 7 days since I moved to England. Time to recap what I’ve learned so far about these Blighted Isles. Quirks and manias of the British, madness and mayhem.
Wherever you live and wherever you’re from you’ll find it funny as hell, you know, mainly ‘cause as funny as I can be, the Brits just give me so much raw material!

The Darkhours Episode CLXXXIV: Flower Power
II just spent three days with my mom and a bus full of old people. My body clock is screwed up and I don’t remember what’s hip. Join me as I immerse myself into modern society.
Webkittyn is in town. She’ll be joining me in studio… And possibly other surprise guests. Who knows… We’ll grab flowers and have a hippie love in. Maybe if things go technologically correct, this will be our first video chat show!

Cinco De Mayo
One hundred and fifty years ago today the Mexican army beat the shit out of superior French forces at the Battle of Puebla. One year six months ago today I moved from NYC to the UK. Today I have a damn nasty cold. So tonight, I’ll be playing Mexican Rock, French Punk, British Crap and American Funk. In between I’ll talk about whatever pops into my fevered brain.

The Darkhours Episode CLXXXIII:Beltane and Beyond!
So Beltane was yesterday. Blessed Beltane to all the pagans out there! Maybe we should get a bit spooky/witchy out there. Seriously, I love a good reason to pretend it’s Halloween even if it’s 6 months away. It’s the Springtime Season of the Witch so lets celebrate May! We’ll have wine and cookies and whatever makes us happy as we dance naked in our own homes listening to the Darkhours!

Zugzwang
It’s been an exceptionally exhausting week here in Blighty. Emotionally, physically, intellectually exhausting. Neither new, nor unusual, but I can’t help thinking that it’s leading to some dark crescendo. My investigation into employment laws (and the way employment agencies circumvent them) continues. There are some changes coming to KMRL, that, though relatively straight forward, I’m still trying to figure out - mainly because my brain absolutely refuses to function on more than a primal level. Which all leads to, of course, tonight’s show!
Great music, as usual, will be accompanied by… drum roll please… an explanation & (perhaps) expose of charity shops in the UK. In the US, there are very few second hand shops, and here and there you will find a Goodwill or Slavation Army store (misspelling intended), but there is nothing in the US like the pervasive culture of charity shops in the UK. In every town, even the smallest, are second hand shops run by various charities, from The British Heart Foundation to PDSA [People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals] (a charity that’s actually close to my heart).
