Divide and Slaughter
Another week, another tax bill (yeah that’s the great thing about England, there’s no level at which you don’t have to pay National Insurance. Whereas in the US you pay 7.5%SSI on whatever you earn, in the UK you pay a flat rate below a certain amount - meaning if you earn nothing you still owe something.) Mix that in with the 10% cut in the taxes for the 350,000 richest people in this country, and I’m right pissed off (whereas in England “pissed” means drunk, and “pissed off” makes no sense whatsoever). Exhaustion, economic terror and sunburn. Yup. ME with sunburn, and not even from having fun in the sun… it’s from working my ass off in the sun. Who’d a thunk it. So if I’m making even less sense than usual you’ll kindly understand and, I dunno, just “piss off” (which makes sense on both sides of the pond).
Tonight I’ll be discussing, racism, religion and politics (I wonder how many times have I typed those words), and perhaps I’ll analyze my overuse of parentheses. We’re in a world where the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer at the fastest rate in history, yet instead of dealing with it people are hiding behind racism, religious fanaticism, economic fairy tales and blatant selfishism (yeah, I know that’s not a word, and did I mention, piss off)! It’s been going on for hundreds of years and seems to be speeding up exponentially, like a fall down a dark well whose bottom is probably the end of the human race.
Think about it. Hundreds of years ago when the Irish and the Africans in the US started hanging out together, living in the same neighborhoods, etc. and the Irish began coming out politically against slavery, within a decade they were manipulated into racism - suddenly they hated the slaves for taking their jobs. Think about that, how sick is it that they were brainwashed into hating people who’d been kidnapped, raped and enslaved, for taking their jobs!
I am beyond trying to explain to Brits how Americans can be against fucking HEALTH CARE. But I can definitely see that the same type of manipulation and brainwashing is going on. It would be nice if there were some tea baggers in the chat room who could try to explain it, but they tend to avoid debating me like The Vatican avoiding pedophilia investigations.

The Darkhours Episode CLXXIX: Spring brings out the naughty in us.
I don’t know about you, but I notice that Spring brings out our naughty streak. People are gearing up for the “mating season” and that’s just the start of it. As the season gets warmer and the days stay lighter longer we come out of our hibernative states and try to slip into our Post Apocalyptic wear daily so that we may go out and club ourselves a mate or captivate the ones we have.
Tonight, the music will be full of energy for the chase. The mixes will be upbeat and the talk will be of things that make us want to bite a lovers neck. Join us for the fun!

Double Dose Tonight Starting at 9PM with Kittyn Heather and Mama Prude and J Rock and Babble Hour 1
As thrilled as I am to see the success of L'arc-en-Ciel at selling out Madison Square Garden, I'm a bit disturbed at all the attention they're getting as being the 'first Japanese band to headline' and blah blah when X Japan was originally scheduled in 2008 but had to cancel due to health issues. That aside, I'm going to start a little early tonight at 9 and basically rant a bit about that so those of you not interested can sit out. Of course there will be music and babble but I just feel like L'arc is taking a dig at X Japan and the doesn't sit well with me.Then at 10 we'll go to the regular two hours of horseshit although Darkstar isn't with us this week. I'm sure we'll still manage to have some fun and find something to make me laugh like an idiot over. Add in the usual mix of music that only I seem to like and you've got the idea. Hey, this isn't good radio. It's Kittyn's weekly tea party except someone laced the tea.
DON'T FORGET THE CHAT ROOM! It does my poor weak insecure self good to see people come show the love in the chat room. Or the hate, either one works for me. I can handle the haters.

I have seen all, I have heard all, I have forgotten all.
Every week I come across something strange or think of something new & unusual that I observe would be a great topic to discuss on Saturday’s show, then by Saturday morning I have somehow forgotten all and am scrambling for a topic. I could easily just write these things down, but the easy road has never been my path.
My week has been overwhelmed by the intricacies of British laws, requirements, certifications and general bullshit. All of which I’ve moaned about on more than one occasion, to the point that even I am growing bored at the sound of my own voice. On the other hand I’ve continued my research into religious psychopathy and political sociopathy, quantum relativity and causality - all of which will give me no end of topics to bitch and wonder about. As usual, in between I’ll be playing great music from across decades and genres.

Darkhours/Webkidney Crossover IN ONE HOUR! Darkstar/Kittyn(Heather) and MamaPrude Part II
OK...last night was rather entertaining, and if you missed it, well then you’re the one who lost out. The chatroom was hopping with loads of peeps and the conversation was hot and bothered! Tonight, we’re at it again, yet Webkittyn feels she’s more like Silent Bob as she’ll sit at the small screen and bitch about how small the laptop is compared to her computer. Either way, I’m still upstate at Webkittyn Studios and we’re gonna have another go at it. Maybe a mix or two, but expect the bizarre banter times three… or two plus MamaPrude saying her usual hard of hearing “Huh?!?!”

Putting Out Fire with Gasoline (aka Petrol) for a Happy St. Patricks Day
The Brits do seem to have a knack for doing the opposite of what is necessary to solve a problem, then rationalizing it into the ground. Of course they are not dissimilar to American conservatives in this, but when the Brits an Americans team up at it, the effects are truly maddening (does anyone doubt that we’re still drowning under the waterfall of piss that has trickled down from Reagan and Thatcher’s policies?) It becomes exceptionally atrocious when the rationalizations are no longer believable, even to the people who believe an imaginary old white man in the sky will magically solve all of their problems. That’s when they start playing on fear and hate to get their way. Is it any wonder that racism, bigotry, misogyny and homophobia make up the bag of tricks of modern day conservatives, similar to the way candy and lollipops are the tools of the paedophile with the nondescript white van, tinted windows and padlocks on the outside?
The fear of the other goes deep, and is easily manipulatible. But so is fear of the dark, and of heights, yet we expect our children to sleep without a nightlight by the time they reach their teens, and we build skyscrapers that soar to heights unimagined by our ancestors. So how is prejudice still even remotely acceptable? How is it that less than 40 years ago the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder, yet prejudice has not been classified as one? I’ve been thinking that, perhaps, the thing that really unites Britain and the US is this fear (’cause after living here over a year, I can guaran-damn-tee you that it’s not language). The Brits, for example, do not consider themselves European, geology be damned! Similar to the way Canadians do not consider themselves American, and citizens of the USA seem to think that they’re the only ones on the entire continent.
So tonight I’ll be discussing politics and prejudice, along with some of my most recent theories about the development of these neuroses in Homo Sap. and whether we, as a species, will be able to overcome them or whether they are just too completely contra-survival, in which case how much life on this planet will we be taking down with us. In between I’ll be playing lots of great music to keep things from spiraling uncontrollably into the abyss! I’ll also get into the over the top way the English celebrate St. Patricks Day, which, given the history of their actions against the Irish is just creepy.
