Grey’s Garage: No Show Due To Little Sis’ Birthday (And A Moving Update)

Heya, folks.

I’m not gonna be able to do today’s show. Today is my little sister’s 14th birthday (I will break any boy who tries to touch her! >.<!!) and my family is taking her out to dinner at a restaurant she’s been wanting to go to for a long time. This means I won’t be on the air today. With the big move happening next Sunday, I won’t be back on the air until I can get broadband internet at the new place. I’m hoping this means I’ll be back on by April 8th, but we’ll see how that goes.

Wish me luck and I’ll be talking to y’all soon!

The Darkhours Episode XXVI: Mid season filler show

This is more of a year in review going over the last 25 episodes of Season 1. Not a “best of” show but more of a “reflection” on the past and a look into the future of the Darkhours and KMRL.

I’d like to be informal on this occasion and possibly try some of the ideas that have been sitting on the back burner like an mp3 dance mix segment.

In the chatroom, we’ll have open discussion on what should or could change about the show if it should be changed at all.

Or in the end, we could just say “fuck it” and have our usually screwy good time on a rainy friday night!

So join us in the chatroom tonight and brace for impact with another wild and unpredictable ride on the Darkhours.

Mojo Mondays with Kineada!…"YAYWKBDAY” Edition

What in tarnation does "YAYWKBDAY" mean? Tune in tonight to find out!

Back in our regular slot, from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST, we'll be spinning some tunes, watching some hockey, and hopefully passing along a lot of "cookies" and "good juju" to a certain someone who is having a significant day today! Don't forget to join us in the KMRL Chat Flat, otherwise, you're only catching half of the fun!

Thoughts on music

Every performance of “Ball and Chain” Janis Joplin gives, I’m blown away by the energy, ardour, and force she gives the audience.

I am not going to say one genre of music is bad. If it reaches out and touches you, makes you feel, that’s all it is. That’s what music is supposed to do. Why should I care how you feel, as long as you feel. Just listen and feel. It doesn’t matter if it’s rap, metal, blues...it should make you feel. Something. For me, classic rock and blues make me feel; Janis takes everything and just screams and yells for me...and I feel. A friend may listen to alternative, that makes them feel. As long as you feel, what the hell.

The Dark Hours Episode that revisits the beginning of it all.

Last week was the season finale of the Darkhours. That was when we covertly celebrated our 25th show. That’s the first milestone! For those who have grown to love the Darkhours and the grandness that it has become, let’s not forget how we got here.

This week we go back in time to when the show was a train wreck with Episode I. Join us in a trip down memory lane with the episode where it all started. We’ll go back to the bad banter, the stodgy talk, the tinny sound and lots of silly schtick! And lest we forget the overuse of the word “meanwhile”. So come by for a laugh and a memory.

Same Dark Time, Same Dark Channel. 11pm Friday night!
