The Darkhours Episode CLXXXIV: Flower Power
II just spent three days with my mom and a bus full of old people. My body clock is screwed up and I don’t remember what’s hip. Join me as I immerse myself into modern society.
Webkittyn is in town. She’ll be joining me in studio… And possibly other surprise guests. Who knows… We’ll grab flowers and have a hippie love in. Maybe if things go technologically correct, this will be our first video chat show!

Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth…
Tomorrow, 22 April, is ”Earth Day”. Earth Day is an idea that I, theoretically at least, agree with. It’s implementation on the other hand leaves a great deal to be desired. There seems to be a big show of implementing Green “solutions” to everything, but really it’s all just a show. Look behind the curtain and you don’t even find an incompetent old huckster, you find instead more corporate bullshit with an objective of looking good and profiting well today at the cost of tomorrow.
Why, for instance, has Brighton built an incinerator in Newhaven (not even in the same district) to burn their garbage, when every other modern country has outlawed the building of incinerators. Burning garbage is bad for the environment (which is obviously why they’ve situated the incinerator 8 miles from Brighton) yet they claim that it’s a friggin green solution to waste! Top that off with the claim that the incinerator will produce “clean power” simply shows the levels of bullshit you have to wade through. Oh, and have I mentioned that they intend to ship waste from as far away as France, to burn here?
There’s also news that fracking has been given the go ahead to continue in England, even though it’s been proven that fracking has caused earthquakes here (which is why it stopped). Even crazier, you’re talking about something that’s been proven to contaminate the local groundwater, in a country suffering a severe water shortage. WTF are these people thinking?
Last, but certainly not least, for the last couple of weeks I’ve managed to get a few days work as a “Recycling Engineer” for Lewes District Council, and I’ve got quite a few things to get off my chest about that!

As an American, English is my second language
But I acknowledge that only because the name for the English language is derived from the country in which I now reside, and their views of language & spelling just give me a headache. I actually got into an argument a few days ago when I insisted that there was no “O” in “maneuver” (which there obviously isn’t), except of course the Brits seem to attach “O"s and of course “U"s to various words arbitrarily.
So tonight I will begin a common sense guide to the “British” language, a contradiction in terms if there ever was one. Their idiomatic expressions, quirky pronunciation of vowels, and most importantly why, when you come across one of these creatures, it is better to cross to the other side of the street with your fingers in your ears than to try to comprehend it (the problem is that the variations in language make seeing through an individual’s BS very difficult, and render ones own defenses rather useless).
I will as usual be playing music from across generations and continents, but I have a strange feeling, an omen, almost a haunted, threatening, chill down my spine; that tonight’s show will be filled with rants and invectives the likes of which the Brits have rarely seen, and that Americans may never forget!

Hello, Mojo! I'm back, I'm feeling better and I've got a new bottle of wine with the coolest name and picture on the label for tonight's show so who knows, it might even be a good one! You can see the pictures below, tonight we're drinkin' the Fat Cat! You don't have to drink with me but feel free if you so desire and at least come and listen! It's been weeks since I've felt alright and tonight even Mama Prude isn't going to get to me!What to expect? Who the hell knows. Lots of bad language and me being stupid and I drink more wine and my clueless mother who either doesn't hear what I say or doesn't understand the other half. We'll play some bad music and have no smooth mixes but it should still be fun. I'm sure someone in chat will trigger something and we'll go from there!

Special Show with Kittyn Heather and Mare Skyping Live from the SlutWalk Fashion Show from 7-9PM EDT
KMRL's very own Mare Martell of the Mariety Show and the Fat Chick Music Cafe will be strutting her stuff tonight in the SlutWalk Knoxville Fashion Show and we're proud to see her do it and proud to support both the walkers and the cause!Kittyn Heather will be playing music and hanging out from 7-9PM NY time and at some point Mare will be Skyping in live with news from the show and information on what SlutWalk is all about.
Come and join us and get involved but keep in mind this is the first time we've tried this and anything can happen so hopefully it will go well but don't be surprised at anything!
