Getting the word out on Autism: an educational site
I came across this site a few months ago by way of Ragged Edge. It offers a journey; a look at the two sides of autism: the pity model, which displays autistic behaviours as nuisances needing to be “fixed” to make the autistic individual “normal” and socially acceptable; then, the social model, which displays the same behaviours as coping skills. At the core of the site is the message of the disability rights movement: our homes, our lives, our independence, not a nursing home or institution. It shows a woman’s chosen method of communication in action, a communication board. It’s educational, direct, and a refreshing look at a disability understood by few.

The Darkhours Episode XXVIc: Requiem for our pained hearts. Mid Season filler show.
Flood....firepower.....finality...fatalities....
This has been one tragic week in America. The Nor’Easter made homeless families similar to Louisiana. The self absorbed destroyed the families and lives of 32 people and changed American history forever.
Tonight the Darkhours takes 2 hours to try let us reflect on the sorrow, rejoice in life, remember the dead, and try for a little musical escapism along the way.
A 2 hour vacation from what god hath wrought these past few days....
Join us in the chatroom of course for another adventure into the musical fantasies of life and share your thoughts on what has transgressed this week....
I promise… I’ll make you smile.
11pm to 1am EST tonight .

The Deathsquad Show, Volume 27
Tonight on the Deathsquad Show, Volume 27....
Nappy Haired Hos.
QUICK, someone call Al Sharpton!
But yes come listen to me rant about how retarded this whole Don Imus scandal is and basically why Americans really need to grow some fucking balls, or Al Sharpton needs the Saddam treatment *gasps*
Truthfully I’d like to note I wouldn’t know who Don Imus was otherwise, and if you asked me about him several weeks ago I probably would have said it was the lead singer of Primus? But I’ve done my research and my neutral eyes to the world declares this WRONG. What he said was wrong but how everyone is screaming like little bitches over it, and basically grinding up his career into nothingness is a higher ‘wrongness’. Everyone goes on about what he said and how bad it was and calls for blood, but ignores the smaller things like the ‘Imus Ranch’ which is something Don Imus and his Wife own/operate and support. Basically its a ranch out west that -sick- and -dieing- children can go to, to experience a western ranch, you know, before they die.
So remember, Al Sharpton is FOR the pain and suffering of children.
9pm.

Mojo Mondays with Kineada!…The “Mad Scientist, Part II” Edition
Another Mojo Mondays with Kineada! during a KMRL Spring Break which feels a LOT more like a Christmas Vacation due to the weather outside...We'll still be rocking it out on the air, in the chat flat, and maybe even on Waterdeep MUD, so stop in, check it out, and make a request! Just like last week, I'm going to be fiddlin' and experimentin' with different programs and trying out different methods for delivering the show's content to you, my wonderful listeners, hence the "Mad Scientist" title for this week's show.
Tune in tonight to Mojo Mondays with Kineada! ONLY on KMRL!
UPDATE: Look for the show to MAYBE start a teensy bit late tonight, most likely between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Gotta take advantage of the KMRL Spring Break while we can! Come May, it's back to the grind!

Why does this not surprise me?
Sixteen-month-old Emilio Gonzales has been given a reprieve and his family another 10 days to find a hospital that will treat him and keep him on the ventilator that helps him breathe.
The reasoning behind this is that the hospital ethics team (which is probably PAID to make this decision) has determined he’s better off dead than Leigh’s disease. I don’t care how early their death will be, it’s not over ‘til it’s over. I would prefer that the child be put on hospice, but this isn’t my choice. And apparently, it’s not the parents’ either.
The “ethics committee” is acquitted from all legal action because of Texas’ Futile Care law (I’ll be ranting on that soon).
Under the Texas Futile Care Law, doctors can remove life-sustaining treatment from a child when they determine that it would not be in the child’s best interest to be kept alive—regardless of the parents’ wishes.
On Tuesday, Travis County Probate Judge Guy Herman ordered the hospital to maintain treatment of the boy while more information could be gathered for a hearing on April 10. Herman also appointed a guardian ad litem to act on Emilio’s behalf.
Absolutely disgusting. If the parents actually consented to removing the ventilator, I would still have an issue with it, but they didn’t. There’s always been the right to refuse treatment.
Support Not Dead Yet! ...and sign the petition to keep him alive!
Grey’s Garage: I’m Back and I’m Pissed the F*** Off
I’m back. I’m pissed. I’m sure many of you in the US heard about what happened to Don Imus over a stupidly bad joke he made. He got fired because of those assholes Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Sharpton then declared that it was the start of a war on language. Tune in tomorrow night at 5pm for my take on the idea of racist fanatics who get off on inciting people to murder being our national censors over jokes and language.

Episode 26c: Friday the 13th show!
This is another mid season filler show until the official start of the Darkhours Season II in May when the station officially reopens. Tonight we mourn the passing of our freedom of speech now that Imus has been shit canned by CBS radio. So you may be in store for some raucous angry talk and even angrier music. We then plan to sink into the dark realm of the abyss with creepy tunes for this Friday the 13th!Then again, we never really plan for these things, do we? The best times still remain the times we don't plan for, so be with us tonight for another adventure into the macabre.
The Darkhours! 11pm EST tonight! Friday the 13th!
