Fashioning the Paving Stones of the Road to “Hell”
Yes, New Year’s Eve. The resolutions and good intentions of which are destined to break hearts, crush spirits and undermine self confidence for the coming year. Truly an arbitrary day, random to anyone other than forgotten Romans who designed an imperfect calendar to supplant those of the “Barbarians”, like the Celts, whose calendar was far more accurate than even than that which we use today.
Seriously though, it’s a day chosen by genocidal thieves, murderers and pirates whose primary accomplishment was amassing enough power & killing enough people to be considered “Gods & Emperors”.
Therefore, this evening I’ll be making fun of the coming year, dissecting the previous year, and just kvetching enough to echo throughout all the years. Mixed in will be enough good music to keep you rockin’ if you’re getting ready to go out, keep you happy if you’re just getting back in or merely kill a couple of hours if you just don’t give a shit.
I’ll be broadcasting live from Buggery Ol’ Blighty at 11:00pm GMT, which is 6:00pm Eastern/3:00pm Pacific time in the USSA, and which brings in the New Year at Midnight in Western Europe.
