Hiding Under the Covers
I'll be playing nothing but cover versions tonight - covers that are as good, or better than the originals that is (I mean it's pretty easy to find shit covers by nowhere bands, so that would be kinda pointless as well as boring)!Why, you may well ask, am I doing the radio equivalent of a clip show? Well, lately I've been walking through molasses and breathing fog. The brain is in second gear and the transmission is rusty, so this seemed like a good enough idea at the time. Besides, you may well learn something... for example; The Animals 'House of the Rising Sun' is a cover, and who can resist Laibach's version of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' or Draco shrieking 'Always Something there to Remind Me'.
This will also give me an excuse to play some Weird Al Yankovic! So there'll be some laughs in between the rants this time, and damn if I haven't got plenty to rant about. Fucking Nick Clegg, that Tea Munching Surrender Monkey comes immediately to mind.
