June in Enghland
Searing sun, melting humidity, ripping winds, torrential rains and bone chilling cold… that has been my experience so far of the onset of summer in England. I am beginning to wonder whether, when Shakespeare began Sonnet 18 with; “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”, if he was, perhaps, insulting the person as a fickle, random, unpredictable… Englishwoman?
Yes, once again I will be rambling on about my experiences here in Buggery Ol’ Blighty, this time about the insane weather, and the seeming inability of British meteorologists to actually be able to accurately predict the weather. As usual I’ll be playing great music from across genres and decades as well.
In the meantime I’m planning some future shows, mostly about the good ol’ USA. Next week I’ll be discussing the celebration in the Southern US of “June-teenth”, and on the 30th of June and the 7th of July I’ll be doing a two part show dedicated to American Independence Day when I’ll be discussing the real history of the US, and things you will never have learned in school.
