So, I weighed in and got measured today. In two weeks I have lost 3.2 lbs and feel amazing. That's weight that I can keep off. My body is teaching me how to eat right, and by making the right choices, I feel awesome. Tonight is about celebrating the triumphs in life, no matter how major and minor. Every triumph leads to a step in the right direction. You just have to know how to recognize the positives, even when there seem to be none.

It’s been an exceptionally exhausting week here in Blighty. Emotionally, physically, intellectually exhausting. Neither new, nor unusual, but I can’t help thinking that it’s leading to some dark crescendo. My investigation into employment laws (and the way employment agencies circumvent them) continues. There are some changes coming to KMRL, that, though relatively straight forward, I’m still trying to figure out - mainly because my brain absolutely refuses to function on more than a primal level. Which all leads to, of course, tonight’s show!

Great music, as usual, will be accompanied by… drum roll please… an explanation & (perhaps) expose of charity shops in the UK. In the US, there are very few second hand shops, and here and there you will find a Goodwill or Slavation Army store (misspelling intended), but there is nothing in the US like the pervasive culture of charity shops in the UK. In every town, even the smallest, are second hand shops run by various charities, from The British Heart Foundation to PDSA [People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals] (a charity that’s actually close to my heart).

I think no matter what, I’m not going to let the world get me down anymore. I’m realizing that the world is hurting but it’s not dead and we can still save it/uplift it/make it right. I believe we CAN make a difference. It’s time to stop wallowing in a depression that’s crippling the world. This is odd from a Goth turned Epicalist, because Goths are known to be gloomy sorts. However, Epicalists just LOVE to live life large. If this term confuses you, join me tonight to hear just what the Hell I’m blathering about!

I seriously need to have a show of nothing but fun. Be there with me and have fun in my musical merry-go-round tonight?

All I can say is “Make It So!...ENGAGE!”

All I know is, I’m going to have fun and most likely be as irreverent as usual. I’ll probably offend someone… but then again, that’s why we come here. Weirdness abound! Come on down! See you tonight at 10pE, 7pP. 4aEUR.

Tomorrow, 22 April, is ”Earth Day”. Earth Day is an idea that I, theoretically at least, agree with. It’s implementation on the other hand leaves a great deal to be desired. There seems to be a big show of implementing Green “solutions” to everything, but really it’s all just a show. Look behind the curtain and you don’t even find an incompetent old huckster, you find instead more corporate bullshit with an objective of looking good and profiting well today at the cost of tomorrow.

Why, for instance, has Brighton built an incinerator in Newhaven (not even in the same district) to burn their garbage, when every other modern country has outlawed the building of incinerators. Burning garbage is bad for the environment (which is obviously why they’ve situated the incinerator 8 miles from Brighton) yet they claim that it’s a friggin green solution to waste! Top that off with the claim that the incinerator will produce “clean power” simply shows the levels of bullshit you have to wade through. Oh, and have I mentioned that they intend to ship waste from as far away as France, to burn here?

There’s also news that fracking has been given the go ahead to continue in England, even though it’s been proven that fracking has caused earthquakes here (which is why it stopped). Even crazier, you’re talking about something that’s been proven to contaminate the local groundwater, in a country suffering a severe water shortage. WTF are these people thinking?

Last, but certainly not least, for the last couple of weeks I’ve managed to get a few days work as a “Recycling Engineer” for Lewes District Council, and I’ve got quite a few things to get off my chest about that!

I’ll be discussing all that and more on today/tonight’s show, as well as playing great music spanning five decades and multiple genres, so tune in to KMRL Mojo Radio Live at 6:00pm Eastern/3:00pm Pacific time in the U.S., which is 11:00pm here in the UK and midnight in Western Europe, when I’ll be broadcasting live from Buggery Ol’ Blighty.
What’s that title mean? I dunno. It started when I found out Dick Clark died today. I’m not doing a tribute show to Dick Clark… It just made me think about our mortality more than normal. It’s one thing to think about the premature deaths of rock stars who’ve abused drugs but another to watch an icon that you’d never would think would die, had passed.

Yes, there is a show tonight. I missed two weeks so I have to come back tonight. However. I'm sad, I'm down and out and I'm not feeling in any way happy so who knows what you're going to get. I promise not to spill my guts or get hysterical on the air but I'm just sad. I should just go to bed and say screw it but no, the shows goes on. Somewhere between 9 and 10.

I’ve had my hand (well my entire, exhausted body, really) in recycling in this bloody country lately and I was thinking of doing a show about it, but then I realized that next week is Earth Day which would be a perfect time to get into all the pros & cons of what we, in this politicized era, consider recycling - vs what would actually benefit our planet and our society. While I’m in favor of recycling, I also agree with George Carlin when he said that environmentalism is more about spoiled people trying to have a nice place for themselves to live than any wish to help the environment or the planet.

So tonight, instead, I’ll talk about sexuality. The misogyny that permeates every level of our society, as well as various prejudices against any sexual practices that stray from an arbitrary “norm”. The bullshit “rules” imposed upon women to keep themselves as well as their partners in a constant state of sexual frustration… Since I’m not being given a moment’s peace to put my thoughts on “paper”, I’ll leave it at that and if you want to know more, you’ll have to tune in!
