Tuesday Night…

Believers of an impersonal and sanitized Internet should not read this blog post...

I want to apologize to everyone that was ready to tune into The Deathsquad Show last night, as I was not able to fill in as I had originally planned. Ten minutes before I was set to go on, I received word that my grandfather's brother had passed away. While just about that entire side of my family lives in Alabama, and I have seen them on only a handful of occasions, my father grew up there, and was close to his uncle in his formative years. Needless to say, my father took the news pretty hard.

I made the decision to go be with my family, as I wasn't sure if my father would be ok, or how my grandmother would take the news. The complete irony is that a relatively healthy appearing man as my great-uncle was would pass away so unexpectedly, while my grandfather himself has been bed-ridden in a nursing home for over a year.

No special sympathy is asked for, however, I would implore each and every one of you who reads this to take the time, especially with Thanksgiving only a day away as I write this, to be thankful for the blessings we have in our lives, for the loved ones that surround us, and take the time to say a prayer or a blessing or a well-wishing or whatever you happen to believe in for all the people that experience a loss such as this, not only around the holidays, but throughout the year.

My apologies to Deathsquad and WebKittyn. I was really looking forward to subjecting Deathsquad's listeners to my own special brand of chaos (I only hoped to emulate the rant-master himself, I couldn't hope to actually match him!). The music I had planned to play will most likely see the light of day on the next-episode of my show, including the requests made by a few people prior to the show beginning. I also obtained a tape-recording of one of my great-uncle's live shows (he was in a band, played twice weekly up until last month even!) that I will be seeing if I can get on the air sometime.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all in the KMRL family, the listeners, the talent, the owners, and especially WebKittyn, for all the work she does, and allowing all of us to share in her vision. Being able to bring all you wonderful KMRL listeners my show every week has allowed me to fill the void I've felt since having to give up my pub DJing gig. The familial atmosphere promoted and supported by WebKittyn and all the great on-air talent here at KMRL is a joy of which to be a part. Thank you all, and God bless.
