No Deathsquad Tonight
The Deathsquad Show will not be heard tonight, and probably won’t be heard next week. Basically it comes down to a lack of bandwidth left in my account, I get roughly 5,125mb worth with my HAHA “Unlimited” AT&T Mobile Internet account, cause I tether to my phone for internet, which is illegal because I’m only paying for 15 dollars to have internet on my cell phone, but the actual ‘tethering’ option is 60 a month. And it seems the Begathon has zapped my bandwidth to death for the month, I checked it at the end of Saturday (well Sunday morning) and I had burned an entire gig worth, so at the moment I’m up to 4,499mb leaving me with half a gig for the month, and this bandwidth includes upload and download. After I break the 5,125mb mark, its possible for AT&T to charge me a fucking dollar per KB which gets expensive really fast, trust me, I learned this when I first got the phone and didn’t have the internet on it.
So Deathsquad is off the air until Febuary 2nd and then I will make my official return. Next month I am going to be upgrading my internet system to probably ‘Wild Blue’ dish network, which will solve this problem, they have at least a 7,500mb threshold and even then I’ll still have my cell phone.
See ya groundhogs day!

KMRL Beg-a-Thon Begins in 13.5 Hours! Sat. 9AM EST - Sunday 9AM EST - Addition: Haitian Relief
Are you getting excited? We're excited. Can you feel it? I said, CAN YOU FEEL IT????The KMRL PoorBastards Beg-a-Thon begins in 13.5 hours, at 9AM EST Saturday morning! We're close! We're getting pumped and we're getting ready to bring you 24 hours of live entertainment that you will laugh at, gigglesnort at and just generally enjoy!
All funds donated to KMRL will be going directly into cost. We have to repair the machine that will allow us to run the uber-program that will let you have a ginormous default rotation, the ability to make requests off of the default rotation and live CBS news streaming at the top of the hour! All further donations will be kept in account for future monthly payments to Live365 and maybe even opening the KMRL store again!
However. As we go into this beg-a-thon from our warm and safe homes, it is impossible to not acknowledge the horror, sadness and tragedy that is being endured by the Haitian people. To ask you to give us money when these poor souls are the ones truly in need almost makes us feel dirty.
We have decided to donate a portion of each donation we receive to one of the genuine Haitian relief funds working so hard to help those so desperately in need. It will work like this:
For every donation between $5 and $20 - One dollar will be donated
For every donation between $21 and $50 - Two dollars will be donated
For every donation over $51, 10% will be donated.
At the end of the Beg-a-thon, we will add it all up and make the donation and we will publish the receipt so people can see we meant what we said.
How often do you get to do some serious good for people in need AND help your friendly internet radio station in need for the cost of a trip to McDonald's? You can do it, give up that number 6 and that latte and get some good karma.
We have some great thing planned for you so even if you don't have any doubloons to toss our way, feel free to join the fun anyway. It's there for everyone! Here are some of the highlights:
**Special Guest Mistress Leslie Savage will be with Darkstar! Check for a preview of '60 Minutes of PMS' and Ms. Savage at her finest!**
**Check for different Skype guests on Darkstar's show and anyone else who has figured Skype out!
**Three VIP memberships and a $25 Amazon gift card will be give away!
**Mama Prude will be joining Kittyn in the wee hours!
**DJs will sing for donations, make wookie noises, read from books, whatever it takes!
**Waterdeep players, you may get special perks, you never know!
The chatroom will be running the entire 24 hours so please, come on by even if it's only to show your support. It's our first time back on the air since early December so all are welcome, there is no requirement to donate to enjoy the fun. However, it would be nice...
So join us tomorrow in the spirit of kindness, generosity and fun as we have our very first (and hopefully our last) KMRL Beg-a-thon, beginning at 9AM EST Saturday morning!
The Final Schedule is as follows:
Sat. 9AM - 1PM - TreemanX opens us up with classic rock and blues
Sat. 1PM - 3PM - Kittyn's softer side as she keeps it PG-13 for the afternoon!
Sat. 3PM - 5PM - Deathsquad's Comedy Show. Laugh clown, laugh!
Sat. 5PM - 7PM - Ravennacht brings us the best of contemporary fun country music!
Sat. 7PM - 10PM - Classic Deathsquad Live
Sat. 10PM - Sun 3AM - Darkstar bringing down the moon and rocking the night
Sun. 3AM - 9AM - Kittyn bringing up the anchor, no more PG 13!
Hoping to see you there!

LIVE 24 HOUR BEG-A-THON THIS SATURDAY ON KMRL, 9AM SAT. TO 9AM SUN.
Yes, are are that crazy. We've had some amazing responses to the call for help and I am THRILLED to say we raised enough to go back on the air with live shows! Thank you over and over to all of you who were kind enough to get us back to working status!
However, we need more. We lost the capability for a decent default rotation and that sucks. We have it in the works, we just need to raise more money.
So we got together and brainstormed and the most fun way we could think of to raise money was to have a live 24 hour beg-a-thon! 24 live hours of the DJs you know and love, good music and us asking you for your donations!
We'll sing for your donations, we'll sing your praises along with anything you want us to sing. We'll have a raffle or two for some small prizes to show our appreciation.
We'll have a special guest during Darkstar's show as the wonderful Leslie Savage makes her KMRL debut! We'll have the chatroom going the entire 24 hours as well and who knows who else might show up for the fun!
As of now, the PoorBastards of Mojo Radio Live Beg-a-thon will run as follows:
SAT. 9AM - 1PM - TreemanX
Sat. 1PM - 3PM - Kittyn in the daytime
Sat. 3PM - 5PM - Deathsquad's Comedy Show
Sat. 5PM - 7PM - Ravennacht
Sat. 7PM - 11PM - Deathsquad
Sat. 11PM - Sun. 3AM - Darkstar
Sun. 3AM - 9AM - Kittyn anchoring the rear!
Please join us for the Beg-a-thon even if you're just there to root us on and keep us going!
Those of you who want to donate, our paypal email is
We're looking forward to your company for the 'thon and we'll be updating during the week!
Spread the word! We need YOU!
Thanks!

KMRL - Why You Haven’t Heard Us and Yes, We Could Use Your Help
This took a lot to do, Darkstar and Kittyn spent the entire day discussing this. Meathe and Deathsquad don't even know we're about to do this as it's something Kittyn always swore she would never do. Kittyn can be stubborn as a moose and even in these hard times she swore it would never come to this.Well, it came to this. KMRL is asking you for your help.
Currently the station is down because well, we plum ran short on the necessary funds to keep everything running. Keeping it real and fully licensed with a decent default rotation costs money and it's just been a tough year, particularly with Kittyn on disability and a small fixed monthly check.
What we won't do is compromise our values. It would be easy to hop on a simple Shoutcast server and do the shows but then we're not royalty covered and we believe the artists we play are entitled to get paid for being played. Being able to say we were royalty-covered was a big thing for us and we won't let that go.
We've also had a level of dissatisfaction with Live365 recently, whether it's player issues or other issues you don't need to be bothered with. Our goal was always to run a solid station with multiple connection options, a better default list with requests and a phone line for call-ins.
It doesn't make sense to go back to where we were and not be able to do anything with what we had. Sometime last year we invested $300 in a program called SAM that does amazing things and would elevate both the live and default parts of KMRL to a whole new level. We never put SAM into use as it is a huge and complex beast and we need separate machinery to make it happen.
This is where we turn to you. And it sucks, I know. How dare we stick out our paws and ask you for money right after everyone just went broke on the holidays. We know. We didn't want to do this.
It's going to cost approximately $700 to get KMRL back up and running the way it was meant to run with the integration of SAM and the ability for ALL new hosts to use SAM. It's going to cost that to get it all together so we turn to you and ask for your help if you can.
Somehow we'll get it done, KMRL was never supposed to be a 'listener sponsored station,' the thought of asking people for money for KMRL makes Kittyn want to put on Mitternacht and go out stabbing. It's perfectly fine to tell us to go screw ourselves and ignore this, it may take us longer but KMRL will re-emerge in a new and improved way.
However.. If you miss having Darkstar there with you in your bedroom every Wednesday night or going to sleep to Treeman late at night or getting your GWAR on with Deathsquad or listening to Kittyn rant about nothing and you have a few doubloons you can spare, all help is deeply appreciated. More than you know. It doesn't matter how much, the gesture in itself will be enough to make Kittyn tear up.
We've made a new email account that is linked to Kittyn's paypal just for this occasion, if people are going to be generous they might as well get a laugh out of it as well.
Donations should be made to
Again, please do not feel obligated as this is not your responsibility and we will eventually come back to you bigger and better but hey, it's the season of love and puppies and we're really hurting financially along with tweaking hard about not being able to broadcast so we've sucked up our pride and we ask for your help.
Help revive and improve KMRL, it's good for your kidneys and Darkstar will love you for life.
Again, donations should go to
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Kittyn, Darkstar, Deathsquad and Meathe.

No Kittyn Tonight, Christmas Bonanza Next Week
Sorry, folks. I've been really sick all day. I'll spare you the details but it hasn't been pretty.I'm not feeling well at all, no way I can get through the show tonight.
I promise next week will make up for it in every way. I'll have Darkstar and MamaPrude and we'll be starting at 9PM EST for a THREE HOUR Christmas show that promises to be fun, vulgar, entertaining and filled with as much holiday spirit as I can muster.
So again, my apologies for missing tonight but my kidneys have minds of their own and today they're not happy. Maybe someone else will jump in.
See you all tomorrow for Deathsquad!
