Why does this not surprise me?
Sixteen-month-old Emilio Gonzales has been given a reprieve and his family another 10 days to find a hospital that will treat him and keep him on the ventilator that helps him breathe.
The reasoning behind this is that the hospital ethics team (which is probably PAID to make this decision) has determined he’s better off dead than Leigh’s disease. I don’t care how early their death will be, it’s not over ‘til it’s over. I would prefer that the child be put on hospice, but this isn’t my choice. And apparently, it’s not the parents’ either.
The “ethics committee” is acquitted from all legal action because of Texas’ Futile Care law (I’ll be ranting on that soon).
Under the Texas Futile Care Law, doctors can remove life-sustaining treatment from a child when they determine that it would not be in the child’s best interest to be kept alive—regardless of the parents’ wishes.
On Tuesday, Travis County Probate Judge Guy Herman ordered the hospital to maintain treatment of the boy while more information could be gathered for a hearing on April 10. Herman also appointed a guardian ad litem to act on Emilio’s behalf.
Absolutely disgusting. If the parents actually consented to removing the ventilator, I would still have an issue with it, but they didn’t. There’s always been the right to refuse treatment.

Grey’s Garage: I’m Back and I’m Pissed the F*** Off
I’m back. I’m pissed. I’m sure many of you in the US heard about what happened to Don Imus over a stupidly bad joke he made. He got fired because of those assholes Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Sharpton then declared that it was the start of a war on language. Tune in tomorrow night at 5pm for my take on the idea of racist fanatics who get off on inciting people to murder being our national censors over jokes and language.

Episode 26c: Friday the 13th show!
This is another mid season filler show until the official start of the Darkhours Season II in May when the station officially reopens. Tonight we mourn the passing of our freedom of speech now that Imus has been shit canned by CBS radio. So you may be in store for some raucous angry talk and even angrier music. We then plan to sink into the dark realm of the abyss with creepy tunes for this Friday the 13th!Then again, we never really plan for these things, do we? The best times still remain the times we don't plan for, so be with us tonight for another adventure into the macabre.
The Darkhours! 11pm EST tonight! Friday the 13th!

The Deathsquad Show, Volume 26
Same old crap, another show. Come listen to all scary forms of METAL and beat your skull into the drywall until there is nothing but a bloody stump left. Most people missed last week, probably cause I didn’t post a blog entry and or didn’t really rally anyone up, but of course you can probably pick up a copy of that in the Podmatic Archive. Warning though, it was the Easter Show and I played the entire score of Jesus Christ Superstar, which was a much better idea then 2 hours of Jesus dieing over and over and over.
More music than yapping tonight, come here my feelings on the RIAA’s proposal of charging all us radio stations a fee for playing music (which we do already, but they’re talking like 5 cents per song everytime you play the damn thing). Come here how the news isn’t really worth reading anymore, unless you want to know exactly how many pills were in Anna Nicole Smith’s colan or how many more American lives were wasted today in the desert.

Mojo Mondays with Kineada!…"The Non-Show” Edition
There's going to be a Mojo Mondays with Kineada! tonight, it just might not be very "show-like".I'm going to utilize the KMRL Spring Break to try out a thing or two to see if they'll fly...experiments I wouldn't want to do during a regular show. Tonight, I'm going to monkey around with Traktor DJ and my little bro's soundcard and mixer, to see if I can get audio from there to here! There will still be music. There will still be banter. There will DEFINITELY be Pittsburgh Penguins propaganda, as the NHL playoffs start this week!
So join us in the KMRL Chat Flat, or on Waterdeep MUD! Make some requests! Come talk some hockey trash! Just join us from 9 p.m. (and heck, I MIGHT even be around earlier than that...) until about 11 p.m. for Mojo Mondays with Kineada! ONLY on KMRL!

Happy Easter and Two New Shows!
A very happy Easter / holiday week and weekend to you from us here at KMRL!Spring Break is under way here and it's going fantastic! I am already thrilled to bring to you all two new and kickass on-air personalities! Both of these men are guaranteed to entertain you and both are different from what you find on every station on the 'net.
The Tree will be bringing you the 42nd Crossroads twice a month before WebKittyn's Wednesday show, 8PM-10PM EST. A mix of blues and classic rock and disctinctive Tree philosophy, we promise you will love the 42nd Crossroads.
The Bear is so newly a part of KMRL that the details on when his show will air haven't been ironed out yet but he will be live weekly and this show promises to be cutting edge in all ways. Check back this week for more details!
Binary Blonde is rumoured to be making her triumphant return this month, make sure to be there will bells on for the return of Digital Tapas!
Kittyn is talking with four other potential new shows and working to coax one out of the shadows she knows would rock the house. Keep your eyes here for the announcing of even more new shows!
The default rotation is being overhauled with contributions from all on-air personalities and a new database/search system, we hope to start bringing you new songs this week.
The blog has been re-designed to match the site a bit more and I'm working to get all links up this week. Ditto for the wiki, FAQ and new forum design.
Everything is moving along as planned if not a little better. Link up with the blog for updates and stop by here now and then to read what's up.
Here's to May at the Mojo!
