Join the KMRL Broadcasting Family!
Think you want to be a DJ? Is your inner canned ham calling out for release? Read below!
KMRL is always looking to expand our broadcasting. As we grow, it is impossible
to take on everyone who wants to broadcast but we're not going to turn away someone
who has ideas and a commitment to a kickass show.
KMRL is still evolving but we're evolving quickly and it gets more exciting by the day.
DJs are given the freedom to put together the sort of show they want to do, there are
minimum boundaries on content or music and Kittyn does not micro-manage. Hours
are claimed but there is no pressure if a show has to be missed and DJs are invited
to jump on the air anytime no one else is on.
KMRL is still small enough where there is no conflict amongst the talent, everyone
gets along and respects everyone else and there is support for all shows all over. It
is helpful to anyone hoping to broadcast if they have a basic familiarity with the station
or some of its shows. However, total strangers are also welcome to enquire!
DJs are currently not paid. They also do not incur any cost to be on the station, all
costs are covered by owners and affiliates. DJs are offered a free place to host their
website (if they have one) and a blog for their show if they are interested. DJs are
encouraged to participate on the KMRL Forums and required to post on the KMRL
blog before their show but for the most part the DJs come and go as they please.

***What sort of show you have in mind.
***Day and time you'd like to broadcast.
***Any broadcasting experience?
***If yes, please explain.
***Are you currently on another station?
***If yes, which one.
***Are you willing to do an audition show, live or recorded?
***Some info about you, what makes you interesting?
While we will take any sort of show as long as it's entertaining, there are some
specific sorts of shows we would love to add. Daytime talk shows are a big
thing Kittyn would love to see added to the schedule as well as DJs who are
out of America and want to broadcast in their native language. Kittyn would
sell her soul for a Finnish DJ.
Other sorts of shows we would love to see on KMRL:
***Right-wing political talk.
***Left-wing political talk.
***Gay/Lesbian/Transgender issues, talk or lifestyle.
***Cooking/Food/Beverage show.
***WoW, gaming, tech, geek show.
***Movie/TV review show.
***Sex show.
***Fetish show.
***Sports show.
***White dude who talks black and plays rap show.
***Punk show.
***Blogosphere show.
***All genres of music not pop or top 40.
Shows can be daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and while we prefer live shows, we
won't turn away a good recorded show. Sense of humour is a plus and don't be afraid
of being offensive, we can take it. What we're not is every other sleazoid station where
a few female DJs talk like cyber-whores and call it broadcasting. We appreciate the
classy/trashy filthy/gorgeous that is life.
